Dangers: ESSARTS Rocks, if coming from the WEST, announced by a NORTHERN
cardinal buoy with BELL - MERVILLE sands if coming from the EAST announced
by a NORTHERN cardinal buoy with light.
MARKINGS: - OUISTREHAM lighthouse,
the big church-tower, the OUISTREHAM water tower of respectively 0.4 M
and 0.8 M from the lighthouse - the red and white smokestack of the RANVILLE
cement factory, 3.5 M South-West of the lighthouse - the Caen hospital
building, 3.4 M from the smokestack.
ACCESS TO THE HARBOUR:The "traffic
signals" located on the lock procedures building, lit day and night ,
regulate access.

LOCK PROCEDURE: The UPSTREAM gate opens
2 hours before the full tide - the DOWNSTREAM gate closes 2H15 after the
full tide. Be aware of the current caused by the opening of the gates.
